As part of the project “Green Eyes Cross Border route (RESET)”, jointly implemented by the Municipality of Nikšić and the Regional Tourism Organization of Sandžak, in cooperation with the Nikšić Tourism Organization, the first three-day promotional tour was carried out with the aim of highlighting the beauty and tourism potential of the eight municipalities included in the project.
Over the course of three days, participants visited a variety of sites in the municipalities of Nikšić, Šavnik, Žabljak, Pljevlja, Prijepolje, Nova Varoš, Sjenica, and Novi Pazar. In total, 37 locations across the cross-border region were explored, offering participants the chance to experience firsthand the diversity of natural and cultural attractions this area has to offer. The route led through picturesque landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and authentic local stories. Lakes, monasteries, mosques, museums, and untouched nature – all are part of the unique offerings of this new tourist route.
The promotional tour was held from June 11 to 13, 2025, and gathered 25 participants, including representatives of local governments, tourism organizations, media, NGOs, tourist guides, and event planning agencies. In each municipality, participants were warmly welcomed by local tourist organizations and guides, who offered hospitality, expert presentations, and a comprehensive overview of their region’s potential.
This promotional tour was an opportunity to exchange ideas and shape the future tourism offer. Through direct experience and feedback, participants contributed to the finalization of the itinerary developed as part of the project activities.
The goal of this event is to create an attractive cross-border route that will contribute to tourism development, strengthen regional cooperation, and highlight the natural and cultural wealth of the area.
To further promote the tourism potential of the municipalities involved in the RESET project, a mobile application has also been developed. The app provides visitors with an overview and detailed information on all attractions and amenities across the eight municipalities – from natural beauty and cultural-historical sites to events and local offerings.
