Target groups:
  • 50 unemployed young man (40%) and woman (60%) aged from 18-30  from Sandzak area in SRB (25) and MNE (25) without competencies relevant to the market needs;
  • Up to 10 SMEs and individual producers from cross-border Sandzak area;
  • Representatives of local government and government institutions from SRB (5) & MNE (5).

Overall objective: To contribute to economic, social and territorial development by increasing access to social and cultural services aimed at vulnerable youth from Sandzak cross-border area
Specific objective(s): Fostering employability and social inclusion of vulnerable youth in cross-border Sandzak area by increasing their employment competencies and networking with SMEs through piloting innovative youth employability one-stop-shop service
Estimated results: 1.      Service responding to local needs of youth employability is developed, evaluated and recognized as model of good practice by the local self-governments in Sandzak cross-border area;

2.      2.50 vulnerable youth from Sandzak cross-border area gained IT, entrepreneurial and transferable competencies;

3.      Developed up to 20 IT business ideas stimulates 50 young people employability and development of SMEs in cross-border Sandzak area;

4.      20 IT business ideas developed by youth with mentorship support are promoted and 6 are selected for further development.

Main activities

(in relation to the estimated results of the action):

1.1. Mapping study on the local needs in the cross-border Sandzak area; 1.2. Developing one-stop-shop service based on cross-sector cooperation and Mapping study;

1.3. Evaluation of the service & recommendation for future implementation and sustainability;

1.4. Cross-border Round table  aimed at advocacy for its recognition by local government in SRB & MNE;

2.1. Recruitment of vulnerable youth in Sandzak area through youth work info campaigns;

2.2. Educational courses: A) Soft skills; B) IT technical skills; C) Entrepreneurship in IT) in Novi Pazar&Bijelo Polje.

3.1. Recruitment of mentors;

3.2. Research of local needs and networking with local SMEs by educated young people;

3.3. Developing business ideas by young people with mentorship;

4.1. Cross-border event “Elevator Pitch” aimed for promotion of successful business practices and competition for the best youth business ideas in SRB & MNE;

4.2. Mentorship support for up to 10 selected best youth business ideas in IT sector.

Achieved results:
  • The project established and piloted an innovative youth employability one-stop-shop model across the Sandžak cross-border area (Novi Pazar, Sjenica and Tutin in Serbia; Rožaje, Berane and Bijelo Polje in Montenegro), starting with a mapping study to identify local needs and then designing the service through cross-sector cooperation.
  • The project equipped 50 unemployed young women and men (18–30) with soft skills, IT technical skills and entrepreneurship competencies through structured courses delivered in Novi Pazar and Bijelo Polje, while linking trained participants with local SMEs and individual producers to better align skills with labour-market demand.
  • With mentor support, participants developed up to 20 IT business ideas, showcased them through a cross-border “Elevator Pitch” event and selected the strongest ideas for further development, complemented by advocacy actions to support recognition of the one-stop-shop as a good practice model and to inform recommendations for future roll-out and sustainability.
