Within the project “Reducing the impact of local communities in the cross-border region of Serbia and Montenegro on climate challenges – WE CAN”, a regional educational Programme was developed to reduce the negative impact on climate change, which creates preconditions for better environmental education of students and the wider community.
The educational Programme is designed to cover 16 teaching units with a planned number of lessons of a maximum of 29. The idea is to give schools and teachers the opportunity to choose those teaching units that will best complement to the school curriculum or can be implemented through extracurricular activities.
The Programme, through 16 selected teaching units, deals with the problems of climate change, renewable energy sources, the relationship between economic activities and climate change, and a significant segment is devoted to practical exercises aimed at encouraging, in addition to education, practical work of students related to renewable sources, and to reduce electricity consumption (e.g. selecting the type of bulb with reference to energy consumption).
All interested parties are invited to give comments on the Curriculum for environmental education until March 20, 2021.
