On Monday, 26 August 2019 at the Hotel “Center” in Bijelo Polje an initial conference of the project ”Skilled women’s workforce for a better future“ was held, whose implementation is co-financed by the European Union through the Cross-border Cooperation Program Serbia – Montenegro 2014 – 2020, within the financial Instrument for Pre-Accession assistance (IPA II).

The conference aimed to highlight the importance of the project in the field of employment through the possibility of long-term employment for unemployed women who first appeared at the labor market, with the aim of providing non-institutional assistance to adults and the elderly.

Opening speech of the conference was opened by the Director of the Home for the elderly in Bijelo Polje Dejan Pavićević, who on this occasion commented on the importance of cross-border cooperation and the importance of the existence and operation of the Home for the elderly in Bijelo Polje, as one of the most important institutions for the elderly population.

The audience was also addressed by the Director of the Center for Social Work in Novi Pazar Adnan Dizdarević, who presented the activities of the Center and the expectations associated with the project that is being implemented.

On behalf of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Montenegro, as one of the project partners, the participants were welcomed by Ivana Šuković, independent consultant.

After that Dijana Knežević, coordinator of the project presented the planned activities and results of the project.

Home for the elderly in Bijelo Polje and the Center for Social Work in Novi Pazar will promote social cooperation through the implementation of project activities, and will achieve and contribute to reducing the gap between supply and demand for labor on the local labor market, as well as a unique contribution to social cohesion and inclusion of all categories of the population.
