Location of the action: MNE:  North of Montenegro, Municipality of Bijelo Polje, SRB: Raški district, City of Novi Pazar  
Target groups: 30 elderly people on wider area of the municipality of Bijelo Polje and wider area of municipality Novi Pazar, 15 personnel staff of PI Home for Elderly in Bijelo Polje and Social Welfare Centre Novi Pazar.
Commencement date and project duration: 01/06/2021, 15 months
Overall objective: To improve the local social protection services on wider area of the municipality of Bijelo Polje and municipality Novi Pazar in line with the needs of beneficiaries and local communities
Specific objective(s): To improve the deinstitutionalization of PI Home for Elderly in Bijelo Polje and Gerontology Centre in Novi Pazar  through establishment of 1st TeleCare social service in Montenegro and Serbia
Estimated results: R1 – The TeleCare departments in Home for Elderly in Bijelo Polje and in Gerontology Centre in Novi Pazar established and equipped.

R2 – The TeleCare team in Bijelo Polje-Novi Pazar created and trained.

R3- The elderly beneficiaries trained and educated how to use TeleCare kit devices.

R4 – 24 -hours TeleCare services established.

R5 -The public promotion prepared and implemented.

Main activities

1. Establishing the TeleCare departments in PI Home for Elderly in Bijelo Polje and in Gerontology Centre in Novi Pazar

Achieved results:
 
  • Established one new TeleCare social service in Montenegro and one in Serbia.
  • Developed and adopted 10 internal legal and policy documents for TeleCare services.
  • Procured and installed 2 sets of equipment for the TeleCare platform.
  • Procured and installed TeleCare equipment, including monitors, laptops, tablets, smart watches, VPN connections, work desks and chairs.
  • Developed and installed TeleCare software.
  • Developed a Training Program for TeleCare services.
  • Trained and certified 15 staff members for TeleCare service provision.
  • Strengthened professional capacities for delivering TeleCare support services.
  • Organised a workshop for elderly beneficiaries on the use of TeleCare devices.
  • Trained 30 elderly people from Bijelo Polje and Novi Pazar in the use of assistive technology within TeleCare services.
  • Established a 24-hour TeleCare service for beneficiaries.
  • Provided daily TeleCare monitoring services over a 12-month period.
  • Conducted 300 SOS field visits for beneficiaries.
  • Implemented a public information and promotion campaign.
  • Organised 4 press conferences.
  • Developed a joint communication plan for the project.
  • Produced and distributed promotional materials, including brochures, notebooks, pencils and roll-up banners.
  • Produced and distributed 300 copies of the TeleCare Guide with a Manual of Practice.
  • Produced a promotional project movie.
  • Strengthened cooperation between local governments and public institutions in the field of social protection.
