The Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro and European Integration Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, launched the Third Call for Proposals (3rd CfP) within the Cross – border Programme Serbia – Montenegro (the Programme) on June 19, 2015.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro and European Integration Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, supported by the Joint Technical Secretariat for the Programme, on the occasion of an opening of the 3rd CfP, organized Opening Ceremony/Partner Search Forum, in hotel „Franca” in Pljevlja, Montenegro, on June 22, 2015. The event had a purpose of informing the most important stakeholders and general public about launching the Third Call for Proposals under the Programme.
The attendees were greeted by Mr. Ljubiša Ćurčić, Deputy Major of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Mrs. Ivana Petričević, Director-General for Coordination of EU Assistance Programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, Mrs. Jadranka Milić, from the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and, Mr. Darko Čukuranović, representatives of the European Integration Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
Around 155 participants, among which were representatives of government bodies, local authorities, development agencies, non-governmental organizations, international organizations and other institutions-organisations had the opportunity to hear information about the cross-border cooperation programmes that have been implemented in Montenegro and in the Republic of Serbia during last 7 years and about the achievements made by two countries.
Mr. Darko Čukuranović, Acting Head of the Joint Technical Secretariat for the Programme, general facts about presented the Cross-border Programme Serbia – Montenegro 2007-2013, while details on the Third Call for Proposals and the principles of the cross -border partnerships were presented by Mr. Goran Prebiračević, Task Manager of the Joint Technical Secretariat for the Programme.
Conclusion of the event is that the total amount of nearly 2.16 million EUR, which consist of funds allocated for this Programme for 2012 and 2013, that is available for the Third Call for Proposals to improve cooperation between non-profit organisations in the programme area in Serbia and Montenegro will serve not only to promote european integration process in the region, improve local and regional socio-economic development with emphasis on development of tourism, small and medium enterprizes and environmental protection but also to build capacities for consumption of EU’s structural funds in the future.
Opening Ceremony was followed by the Partner Search Forum, during which potential beneficiaries had opportunity to present its project ideas in direct communication start discussion with the potential partnerships two thematic tables: Measure 1.1 Improving the productivity and competitiveness of the area’s economic, rural, cultural and environmental resources; and Measure 1.2 Cross-border initiatives targeting the exchange of ideas, between people, to enhance the professional and civic society cooperation.
