In the period from August 26 to 30, the first block of training was organized for future guides and rescuers on Via Ferrata Piva in the Municipality of Plužine (MNE) and Via Ferrata Đurđevica in the Municipality of Tutin (SRB) as part of the project ” Via Ferrata CLimb to Unveil Beauty of Piva and Ibar (Via Ferrata CLUB).
The training for guides and rescuers on the Via Ferrata brought together 20 participants from Serbia and Montenegro who have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to lead tours on the Via Ferrata. The training consists of 5 modules that are organized in three blocks of lectures lasting five days each. The first block included modules related to beginner and advanced climbing courses, and was organized in different locations in the municipality of Plužine, including the practice area on the newly built Via Ferrata Piva that is being installed as part of this project. All subsequent trainings will be organized in the Municipality of Tutin.
As part of the practical training, a visit to via ferratas in Montenegro and Serbia will be organized for the participants. The first in a series of these visits was organized last weekend when the participants of the training had the opportunity to enjoy climbing Via Ferrata Kotor (August 31, 2024) and Via Ferrata Durmitor (September 1, 2024).
The project is jointly implemented by the Municipality of Plužine, Montenegro and the Municipality of Tutin, Serbia, InTER, Serbia and the Regional Park Piva with the aim of contributing to the use of tourist potential and improving cross-border cooperation between the communities of Montenegro and Serbia. Specifically, the project will improve cooperation between the municipalities of Plužine and Tutin through the use of natural resources for the development of complementary and attractive products and services in the field of active tourism.
The implementation of the project started on November 1, 2023 and will last for one year, until October 31, 2024. The total value of the project is € 288,643.10, of which the European Union’s contribution is € 244,798.21.
