Press Trip, organized by the Centre for Protection and Research of Birds (CZIP) from Podgorica and Regional Tourism Organization Sandžak from Novi Pazar in cooperation with other project partners, within The Hoo Project: Creation of Owl and Other Wildlife Experiences, was held from 1st to 4th November, 2022. The venue of this event was the project cross-border area that includes eight municipalities from Montenegro and Serbia: Pljevlja, Bijelo Polje, Berane, Petnjica, Rožaje, Tutin, Sjenica and Prijepolje.
The participants of the trip were the journalists from Montenegro and Serbia. The program of this 4-day event followed the tourist itine
raries based on natural heritage, developed during the project. In addition to visits to natural attractions, during the trip the participants got familiar with tourism offer of rural households and cultural heritage, as an integral part of this new tourism product. The goals of this event are promotion tourism based on biodiversity as well as tourism potentials of the cross-border area, contributing to its increased visibility on tourism market. Making flora and fauna as one of the reasons why guests visit the area, considering its gastronomy and cultural heritage this promotional activity highlights the authenticity of the tourism
offer of the destination and makes it more recognizable. Also, establishing cooperation between stakeholders included in the project and other ones, the activity ensures synergy in promotion and contributes to development of the cross-border area.
The Hoo Project: Creation of Owl and Other Wildlife Experiences is financially su
pported by the European Union, within the IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Serbia-Montenegro 2014-2020, and co-fun
ded by the Ministry of Public Administration of Montenegro. In Montenegro, the project is implemented by the Centre for Protection and Research of Birds (CZIP) from Podgorica and the NGO North Land from Berane, and the Regional Tourism Organization Sandžak from Novi Pazar and the Citizen Association “Jadovnik” from Prijepolje, in Serbia.
